After the Tylenol scare in Chicago in the early 80s, there were occasional copycat threats around the country. So the FBI decided to make this PSA – and got the most popular “cop” at the time – Buntz from Hill St. Blues and NYPD – to voice it. For the music, it was the early days of sampling and I had just got this nice choir sample. Big drums, big washy guitar and a cell door with reverb from hell.
